Scar removal
Scarring is part of the healing process that occurs after an injury to the skin and also to other areas of the body. Scar removal is very common these days. A lot of studies have been done about it and we can now find many doctors specializing on the subject. Many of us would go into scar removal to improve our skin, to feel better about ourselves and to basically have more confidence. There are a number of treatments for scar removal. One of them is called needling. Needling is a process where the scar or the scarred area is needed to help collagen formation. This technique is proven to work however; it would not be as effective for treating severe scars. Another is pressure dressing. Pressure dressing is used for burns and hypertrophic scars. It works by applying regular pressure to surface blood vessels. This treatment should cause scars to flatten and become much softer.Steroids may be injected directly into the scar. This should improve the appearance of keloid or hypertrophic scars by causing them to flatten and become softer. A scar removal technique that involves local anesthetic is called Dermabrasion. It is done by removing the surface of the skin by using specialized equipment. Collagen injections are used to treat sunken scars. It works by raising the scars to the level of the surrounding skin. This treatment needs to be repeated regularly and it can cause an allergic reaction to some people. So, it’s good to do some research before undergoing this treatment.Laser surgery and resurfacing is a new kind of scar remover. The use of vascular lasers is proven to significantly reduce the redness of most scars 6–10 weeks after the initial treatment. This treatment is effective in treating acne scars.Next is Radiotherapy. It is used to stop the re-occurrence of severe keloid and hypertrophic scars. This treatment may have side effects but otherwise, it is usually effective. And then we have chemical peels. These are chemicals which destroy the epidermis in a controlled process. This results in the exfoliation and the removal of particular skin conditions including superficial scars. 
Different Scar Removal Techniques
